Foods to Eat for Low Carb Diet
Are you planning to become healthy? Are you tempting to have a better look than ever? Are you longing to stay fit by losing weight? If you answer yes to these questions, then you are ready to learn and indulge in foods to eat for low carb diets. Yes, I said diet. I know the D work is ugly, but whatever. If it makes you happy, I try low carb lifestyle. Feel better.
One of the reasons most diets fail is because they become dull or too restrictive. Low carb diets do not have to be boring. In fact, they can be delicious and quite fulfilling. One really good idea is to make the plate look appetizing and pretty. A plate full of colorful fruits and vegetables will make for a perfect diet meal. Varying the fruits and vegetables and the way they are prepared will also help keep the diet going.
As to which vegetables are the best foods to eat for a low carb diet plan, let color be your guide. Green vegetables are always low carb if they are cooked properly or served raw. Raw green vegetables are so low calorie and nutritious. Some low carb green vegetables are so low in calories that the body uses more calories to digest them that they are actually zero calories. Green vegetables are perfect raw, steamed, or sautéed. Think broccoli, asparagus, spinach, celery, and cabbage. As long as you don’t use too much oil in their preparation, these are a dieter’s best friend. If you must dip the fresh vegetables in something, think some olive oil with spices or a very low salad dressing. If you can learn them eat them plain, you do save lots of calories.
A staple to any low carb diet is the infamous salad. Many people think that eating a salad every day is the key to low carb dieting. While this is true, an improperly prepared salad is your worst nightmare. Especially if you are at a salad bar, you can ruin your low carb diet in a heartbeat. Salad bars can be your worst nightmare unless you are careful. First of all forget the salad bar unless it has the darker lettuces or spinach. Then look for other dark green vegetables. You can usually find green onions, broccoli, or some herbs like cilantro or parsley. Tomatoes are fine and add flavor and beauty to your salad. Add a few slivers of carrots and bits of eggs. If the salad bar has salsa, by all means add plenty. You can even use this for your salad dressing. If the salad bar has a vinaigrette, that will be your best choice. If your restaurant of choice does not have an appropriate salad dressing, bring your own. Don’t be shy. Trust me the restaurant doesn’t care. A good low carb salad is very filling and perfect for a filling lunch. If the salad bar has some ham or turkey, you should definitely add some.
Instead of desserts, you can indulge yourself with a variety of fruits. There is nothing more refreshing than a mix of some ripe, tasty fruits. Apples, pears, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and pineapple are perfect for low card dieters. If you have always added sugar to some of your favorite fruits, learn to love them for their real taste. After a while, you will wonder why you every added sugar. To satisfy the eyes, create a beautiful fruit plate for yourself because we first eat with our eyes. A simple apple on a plate is less satisfying than a sliced apple with a few strawberries and blackberries as accents.
Don’t be afraid of foods to eat for a low carb diet. You can enjoy a happy healthy life if you make some very basic changes. Eat healthy fruits and vegetables and stay far away from processed foods. You won’t believe how much better you will look and feel.
